By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or using Flavor Lanes, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.

1.Flavor Lanes is a cooking-learning tool

Flavor Lanes helps home cooks learn the Flavor Lane Method, explore ingredient relationships, generate cooking ideas, build meals, use pantry ingredients, and practice cooking by ear. Generated recipes, timing estimates, substitutions, dietary suggestions, Taste Cycle guidance, Kitchen Lab experiments, and other recommendations are educational starting points. They are not medical, nutrition, allergy, dietetic, or other professional health advice.

You are responsible for deciding whether a recipe, ingredient, substitution, preparation method, or recommendation is appropriate for you and the people you serve.

2.Food safety, allergies, and ingredient suitability

Flavor is yours to experiment with. Safety is not. Recipes and experiments can vary because ingredients, appliances, cookware, altitude, product formulation, portion size, and kitchen conditions vary. Cooking time alone is not proof that food is safe to eat. Use a reliable food thermometer when appropriate and follow current government food-safety guidance and product or manufacturer instructions.

Flavor Lanes may display automated allergen flags, dietary filters, ingredient classifications, or substitution suggestions. These tools are not exhaustive and cannot certify a recipe, ingredient, kitchen, or substitution as allergen-free, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, or otherwise suitable for a particular person. Always read current package labels, consider cross-contact and shared-equipment risks, and independently verify ingredients before cooking or serving food to someone with an allergy, intolerance, medical condition, religious restriction, or other dietary requirement.

Kitchen Lab experiments must never override safe food handling. Do not intentionally undercook hazardous foods, hold perishable food at unsafe temperatures, taste raw ingredients that are unsafe to eat, or create an unsafe condition merely to compare results.

3.Accounts and eligibility

Flavor Lanes may offer a limited one-time guest experience before account creation. Guest access is intended as a preview and may be limited using reasonable network or other abuse-prevention signals so that repeatedly opening private-browsing sessions or switching browsers does not restart the guest offer.

Account registration and paid memberships are intended for adults who are legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, and for activity occurring through your account.

Flavor Lanes may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, security risks, unlawful activity, interference with the service, or material violations of these Terms.

4.Saved work and user content

Flavor Lanes may allow you to save meals, recipes, pantry information, plans, notes, preferences, and other content you enter or create through the service.

You retain whatever rights you have in content you provide. You grant Flavor Lanes a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and provide the service to you.

Do not upload, paste, or intentionally enter content that you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, harmful, or designed to interfere with the service.

5.Generated recipes and originality

Flavor Lanes generates combinations from the Flavor Lane Method, product data and rules, and user choices. A saved version may reflect choices and refinements you make through the service.

Flavor Lanes does not promise that a generated dish, ingredient combination, recipe title, cooking technique, or finished recipe has never existed elsewhere. Cooking traditions overlap, common ingredients and techniques recur, and similar dishes or recipes may arise independently.

6.Free trial

The Flavor Lanes 30-day free trial does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. No payment method is required merely to begin the trial.

A paid membership begins only after you affirmatively choose a membership plan and complete checkout. If you do not purchase a membership, you will not be charged merely because your free trial ends.

7.Paid memberships, renewals, and cancellation

Flavor Lanes currently offers paid membership at $8.99 per month or $89 per year. The checkout page displays the plan, price, billing frequency, and other material billing terms before purchase.

Paid memberships automatically renew according to the billing period you select unless canceled before the next renewal. By purchasing a recurring membership, you authorize the applicable recurring charges until you cancel.

You may cancel through the membership or billing portal made available by Flavor Lanes. When you cancel, future renewal is stopped and paid access normally continues through the end of the period you have already paid for.

If membership pricing changes, Flavor Lanes will provide notice when required and any change will apply prospectively rather than retroactively to a completed billing period.

8.Refunds and billing errors

Because Flavor Lanes provides a 30-day free trial without requiring a payment method, paid membership charges are generally non-refundable once a paid billing period begins, except where a refund is required by law.

If you believe you were charged because of a billing error, duplicate transaction, or failure of a cancellation request that was properly completed before renewal, contact Flavor Lanes promptly through the Contact page so the issue can be reviewed and corrected where appropriate.

Canceling a membership stops future renewal but does not ordinarily create a prorated refund for the unused portion of a current monthly or annual billing period.

9.Payments

Payments are processed through Stripe. Flavor Lanes does not receive or store your complete payment-card number. Flavor Lanes may receive customer, subscription, price, payment status, renewal, cancellation, and related billing information needed to provide membership access and customer support.

Your use of Stripe's payment services may also be subject to Stripe's applicable terms and privacy practices.

10.Flavor Lanes intellectual property

The Flavor Lanes name, branding, Flavor Lane Method materials, original educational content, website text and graphics, software, data organization, and other protectable service materials are owned by or licensed to Flavor Lanes.

Except as permitted by law or expressly authorized by Flavor Lanes, you may not copy, republish, sell, license, distribute, reverse engineer, or commercially reproduce protectable Flavor Lanes materials or software.

Nothing in these Terms claims exclusive ownership of ordinary ingredients, common cooking techniques, culinary facts, general ideas, public-domain material, or recipes or other material that is not protectable under applicable law.

11.Service availability and changes

Flavor Lanes may improve, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features, recipe logic, content, or service availability. The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, security work, third-party outages, technical failures, or other operational reasons.

Flavor Lanes does not guarantee that every feature will always be available or that generated results will always be identical. Where the service preserves saved recipe snapshots or saved work, those stored versions may remain available even as generation logic later changes.

12.Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Flavor Lanes is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Flavor Lanes does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that every recipe, substitution, recommendation, dietary classification, cooking time, or generated result will be accurate or suitable for every user, ingredient, appliance, or circumstance.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

13.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Flavor Lanes will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flavor Lanes' aggregate liability for claims arising out of the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Flavor Lanes during the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim or (b) $100.

These limitations do not apply where applicable law does not permit them, and they do not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

14.Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Kansas, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring the dispute elsewhere. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking relief that is available under applicable law.

15.Changes to these Terms

Flavor Lanes may update these Terms as the service, business practices, or legal requirements change. When material changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated and additional notice will be provided when appropriate or required.

Your continued use of the service after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law. Changes to paid membership terms will not retroactively alter a completed billing period.
